Breakfast with a River View: Chattahoochee Coffee Co.’s Riverside Location

If you’re looking for a quiet spot to hop on WIFI that feels like a mini escape without leaving the area, add Chattahoochee Coffee Company’s Riverside location to your list. Tucked into Walton on the Chattahoochee at 2281 Akers Mill Road SE, this spot sits right along the river — close enough to East Cobb that it’s an easy morning trip, but with a setting that makes you forget you’re minutes from the highway.

This shop is just around the corner from where my daughter’s cross country team holds morning practices over the summer, and today was my first time stopping in — I could have stayed all morning. The food menu features authentic Venezuelan specialties like empanadas, tequeños, and a rotating selection of pastries and sandwiches, alongside an extensive coffee menu that gets rave reviews. The space itself is beautifully maintained — modern, spotless, with plenty of indoor seating and free Wi-Fi if you want to settle in and work. This morning I tried the iced peach tea with a touch of honey and a beef empanada, and both hit the spot.

Good to know before you go:

This location is a little different from your typical coffee shop stop. It sits on the Walton on the Chattahoochee residential property so you must drive through the development to find it. It’s a little awkward, but once you go through the gate it’s a straight shot back. Now according to their website, access requires a $15 membership for non-residents — you’ll get a “dolphin reader” so you can skip the guest call box and use the resident entrance. The upside: your first renewal comes with a $15 e-gift card credit, so the membership basically pays for itself if you’re a repeat visitor. For some reason, I did not have to purchase a membership and the gate was wide open. So I am not sure how and when this is enforced. Worth noting too — outside dogs aren’t allowed on the property per their lease agreement.

Chattahoochee Coffee Co. has a few locations around town (Westside and The Eddy in Smyrna are the other two), but the Riverside spot is the one to visit if a water view is what you’re after with your morning cup.

This shop is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. The downsides are the membership requirement and paid parking, but the delicious food and beverages, the river view, and the relaxing atmosphere make the trip worth it.
