New in East Cobb: What’s Happening This Fall (2026)

Ten new businesses are on the way to East Cobb this fall, from 24/7 indoor golf on Johnson Ferry Road to a Korean bakery at Parkaire Landing. Here’s every one I’m tracking, with addresses and the latest on when they’ll open.

I started East Cobb Current because I think it matters to know what’s coming to our neighborhood before it shows up on your corner, and because I really believe in supporting our local businesses. When we spend money here, it stays here. I’ll update this list every month as places open and new ones get announced.

Opening dates change often. Check with each business before you go.

Coming soon

Back Nine Golf

Merchants Exchange, 1401 Johnson Ferry Rd (next to Sea of Pearls Dentistry)

Opening: Grand opening November 14
You’ll soon be able to play golf at 2am on Johnson Ferry Road. Back Nine Golf is an indoor golf lounge with three private bays and Full Swing simulators, open 24/7. You don’t need a membership to book a bay, and you can play courses like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews without worrying about weather. This is the second Atlanta-area location; the first is in Midtown. Founding memberships are limited to 25 spots per tier.

Scoreboard Social

Stonewood Village, 4719 Lower Roswell Rd (former Sidelines Grille)

Opening: Targeting November
Sidelines Grille closed after years as a neighborhood hangout, and a new sports bar is moving into the space. Scoreboard Social is a concept from Naples, Florida, with a game-day menu, a full bar and a kids menu, so it should still work for family dinners after a ballgame.

Shake Shack

Merchants Walk, Johnson Ferry Rd (former Duck Donuts and Mirko Pasta)

Opening: Planned, no date yet
Shake Shack plans to combine two spaces at Merchants Walk into a 3,600-square-foot restaurant, across from Chipotle. Duck Donuts closed in August 2025, and Mirko Pasta closed in May 2026. Cobb County’s only Shake Shack today is at The Battery.

Dumpling Master

Providence Square, Roswell Rd (former La Madeleine)

Opening: No date announced
La Madeleine closed in May after more than 30 years, and Dumpling Master is the confirmed next tenant. Expect soup dumplings, dim sum and bubble tea. The Georgia chain started with one Peachtree City location in 2024 and now has ten.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Avenue East Cobb, 4475 Roswell Rd, Suite 1810

Opening: Later in 2026, no exact date yet
Jeni’s is coming to The Avenue, taking over the former Press Waffle Co. space. It’s the Ohio-based scoop shop known for creative flavors, and it’ll be our first location in East Cobb.

See’s Candies (holiday pop-up)

Avenue East Cobb, 4475 Roswell Rd

Opening: Thursday, November 12, for the holiday season
See’s Candies is popping up at The Avenue for the holidays, starting November 12. It’s a seasonal pop-up, so plan your holiday gift boxes before it’s gone. Opening details are still to come.

TOUS les JOURS

Parkaire Landing, Johnson Ferry Rd at Lower Roswell Rd (former Flying Biscuit Cafe)

Opening: No date announced
The old Flying Biscuit space at Parkaire has been empty since September 2024. Now TOUS les JOURS, a South Korean bakery cafe chain, is moving in with breads, pastries, cakes and drinks. The closest locations today are in Johns Creek and Doraville, so this one saves a drive.

Raising Cane’s

1312 Johnson Ferry Rd (former Wendy’s)

Opening: No date announced
A new Raising Cane’s is planned for 1312 Johnson Ferry Road, where it will replace a former longtime Wendy’s that closed in February after nearly fifty years in business. Raising Cane’s features fried chicken fingers, a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, and coleslaw. Super simple menu that you will love.

Solar Slice Pizza (second location)

3460 Sandy Plains Rd, Suite 250 (former MOD Pizza)

Opening: No date announced
Solar Slice is opening a second spot in the old MOD Pizza space at Sandy Plains Marketplace. Founder Zachary Wyatt opened the first location on Cobb Parkway in 2024 after years at Fellini’s Pizza. Dave Portnoy reviewed it in May and gave the plain cheese slice a 7.9. Renovations are underway.

Pickle Pad and Crave Social Eatery

Olde Mill Shopping Center, 3101 Roswell Rd at Old Canton Rd (former Walmart Neighborhood Market)

Opening: Owner is targeting January, pending county approval
The plan for the old Walmart Neighborhood Market is 12 indoor pickleball courts, four golf simulators, and a restaurant and bar. It still needs a zoning approval from Cobb County. I’ll update this post as soon as there’s a decision.

Getting Bigger

Kroger at Parkaire Landing

Parkaire Landing, Johnson Ferry Rd at Lower Roswell Rd Timing: Construction through spring 2027
Kroger is spending $23 million to expand the Parkaire store from 59,000 to 85,000 square feet, and it’s adding a 12-pump fuel station. Expect some construction around the shopping center through the spring.

Publix at Woodlawn Point

Woodlawn Point, 1100 Johnson Ferry Rd Timing: Closed since March 28, no reopening date announced
The Woodlawn Point Publix closed for a complete interior overhaul and an expansion of its nearly 56,000-square-foot space. Publix hasn’t shared the new size or a reopening date. Until it’s back, the closest Publix stores are at East Cobb Crossing (Roswell Rd at Johnson Ferry Rd), Piedmont Commons (Roswell Rd at East Piedmont Rd) and Shallowford Corners (Shallowford Rd at Childers Rd).

Just Opened

New York Best Bagels (second location)

4811 Lower Roswell Rd (former 101 Bagel Cafe)

The empty bagel shop on Lower Roswell has a new owner. New York Best Bagels opened its second location here, so there’s a bagel spot back in the neighborhood.

Willow River Head Spa

2997 Johnson Ferry Rd

Willow River brings head spa treatments to Johnson Ferry Road, the kind of thing people used to travel to New York for.

Baladi Coffee & Matcha

Sandy Plains Rd (former Clean Juice) Opened: August 1

Baladi serves Arabic and Turkish coffee, vanilla date lattes and pink Kashmiri chai, plus baklava and knafeh.

Spaces to watch

  • LA Fitness, Merchants Exchange Shopping Center, closed July 2026. This LA Fitness occupied a one time Harris Teeter grocery, and while it has been confirmed that a replacement is in the works, it won’t be a Harris Teeter return (as several on Instagram hoped for). I have it on good authority that Lidl on Johnson Ferry will be moving in.
  • Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and Tin Pin, Avenue East Cobb: Both closed at the end of 2025. No replacement has been announced. I’ll share as soon as I hear something.
